'Tubular' Filet Mignon in Buenos Aires



The best steak I've ever had is in El Mirasol, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We were on a ski trip to Las Lenas, Argentina and stopped by in Buenos Aires for 3 nites. And guess what? For three consecutive nites, we went to this restaurant called 'El Mirasol' and loyally ordered the same filet every nite. Tubular instead of a cross-sectional slice, I thought 600gms (1.3 lbs) of meat sounds excessive but I was wrong. It was always duly finished, savored and craved for more. Perhaps it's the pampas grass, perhaps it's the Malbec wine that goes so well with steak or perhaps it was the simple side dishes or maybe even the cut. But if you want good steak, don't hesitate and head now for Argentina!
