Tortilla Soup from Wyoming?
Yes, sounds strange but the best tortilla soup I've ever had is from The Peak restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We were skiing in Jackson Hole and had lunch there, the tortilla soup was a surprise but was really, really good. Nice chicken broth, right amount of chillies and onion, topped with crispy tortilla strips. I think I'm going to write into Bon Appetit magazine and see if I can get the recipe from them!
