St. Jean de Luz is a very pretty little town in southwestern France, about 15 minutes from the Spanish border and 30 minutes from Biarritz. Along the quaint little main street of the town, there's a bakery called
Maison Adam, which has some really, really delicious Gateau Basque - a typical desert of the French Basque region. It's a round almond-based cake, filled with pastry cream, or sometimes with preserved cherries. We brought one back to our friends' house and had it for dessert that night - yum! I like this little town - it's very quaint, the homes are beautiful and the beach sure looks nice.
